Rocking out at our Royal Play date

It was so exciting to munch on tea biscuits, scones and cucumber sandwiches as we indulged in all things royal.  We couldn’t get enough of Kate’s spectacular wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton from Alexander McQueen.   We marvelled in the wee hours of the morning before the press pointed it out, just how reminiscent Kate’s dress was of Grace Kelly’s wedding dress and how it was a perfect pick – timeless, classic, stylish and modern.   She was a vision in lace and satin.  But I couldn’t get over just how composed she seemed.  I remember how nervous and excited I was on my wedding day, and I didn’t have millions of people watching my every step and listening to my every word.  Wow, what grace under pressure.

I thought the pomp and ceremony of the day was tastefully ostentatious.  The vows were beautifully said and the kiss…the kiss was touching and real.  I could eat this romantic stuff for breakfast, lunch and dinner (can you tell).   All in all, I’m glad I catapulted myself onto the Royal Wedding band wagon.   It was a beautiful way to spend a morning with my friends: eating, drinking, discussing fashion and being merry.  What more could a girl want!

Royal Hattery

As I mentioned in a previous post, I absolutely love accessories and so my Pre-Royal Wedding whim has taken me to check out cute hats. Here are some of my top picks from the milliner David Dunkley:

And here is Kate rocking her Prince of Wales feathers.

Cheers and Cheerios!

Royal Fever

I tried to resist the ‘Royal Fever’ as much as I could but I am such a lover of pomp and ceremony that I can’t help it…where is the bandwagon because I am not just jumping on board, I’m launching myself on board. I am currently planning a “Royal Play date” with my girlfriends and their kids to watch the festivities. I sent out a royal evite from the Ladies Char and Brie and Baron JD. Our esteemed guests will be enjoying a plethora of teas, scones and cucumber sandwiches (courtesy of my girlfriend Laura who has been beating herself up for joining the festivities so whole heartedly. She is imagining her Scottish ancestors rolling in their graves as she celebrates with the British monarchy). I will be providing tiaras and crowns for all of my assembled guests to help get them in the mood so that they can get their royal groove on! So, turn on the tube in your home and join us as we watch Will and Kate tie the knot!
