Oh Canada

One of the best ways to explore the breathtaking beauty of Ontario, Canada is to go camping. Here are some photos of a few of our favourite campgrounds. As the kids get older and we branch out to other parts of the country, I can’t wait to bring you more snap shots of our home and native land.

TD Toronto Jazz Festival

Another way of exploring our fair land is to attend one of its many events.   One of its premier treats is the TD Toronto Jazz Festival.  It’s jam packed with awesome indie artists blaring funky tunes from street corners and stages.  The festival boasts 350 performances with over 1500 musicians performing at 40 locations around our fair city.  Now that’s what I call a street party!

Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival Toronto

Mid July till mid August finds the city gearing up for the Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival Toronto.  This event  features three weeks of West Indian culture, foods, music, dancing and fun.  The costumes at the parade on Lakeshore Blvd. are absolutely stunning.  If this is your first foray into treating yourself to Caribbean food, get in line for a beef patty, roti, jerk chicken and a ting grapefruit drink.  Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Shakespeare Play in Stratford

If you find yourself in Ontario, I thoroughly suggest a trip to the beautiful city of Stratford, Ontario. Take in a play, stroll along the river bed and admire the gardens. It’s a piece of Canadian culture at it’s finest! Here’s a little peek.
