About my blog

hip. fun. modern.

Q.) Why did I start this blog?

A.) I started blogging to build a wider network/community of parenting friends. I take to heart the old adage, “it takes a village to raise a child” so I’m always open to learning new parenting tips along with the tried and true. I’m open to checking out new educational resources and ideas to help grow a healthy and happy family. I’ve always been interested in learning from other parents and sharing my knowledge and finds with them too.

Q.) What sets me apart?

A.) I’ve been blogging for a year and if you’ve been on this journey with me from the beginning, you’ve seen me grow and gain more confidence as a woman and as a blogger. This site was born out of what I can best describe as a need to discover my authentic self. I am an everyday woman just like you.  I don’t have it all together, but I’m trying my hardest to be the best wife and mother I can possibly be.  As I began the journey, I realized that I couldn’t force myself into any one particular niche. In my personal life, I have a strong desire to discover the wonderful gems the world has to offer, so it’s not surprising that my blog reflects that too. This site focuses on what I’m passionate about:  my family, faith, travel and fashion, photography, art and design.  It proclaims loud and clear that it’s perfectly fine to be a hip, fun, modern mom.

Q.) What are my goals?

A.) To keep on growing as a blogger, learn new things and share what I learn! I want to introduce my kids to the joys of travel. And I want to learn what I can from other moms and dads so I can be the best parent I can possibly be.  And of course, I want to keep spreading the message… that every good parent deserves to feel truly… ‘epic’!

Q.) One of the cool things that’s come from my love of blogging this past year?

A.) For the last six months, I’ve been writing a fashion column for an online magazine called Sanctity in the City.

A.) I’ve also been featured on the BlogHer publishing network for an article I wrote entitled: It’s all about choice, and we’re choosing public school over private school.

A.) I’ve recently had two fashion posts published.  One was about cute summer protective clothing for kids at MelanieOTG.  Another was about tips for guests choosing outfits to wear to a wedding, at Keepsakes by Katherine the blog.
