Wonderful winter wear

Dear fashionistas,

The weather might not be to my liking but never let it be said that winter fashions are boring! In the winter months, we get a unique opportunity to play around with colour, texture, prints and fabrics in a way that we cannot do in any other season. We can mix a chunky knit sweater with a tweed jacket, we can put a thigh high satin dress under a 3/4 wool jacket, we can throw an iridescent brocade coat over a sheer neutral blouse, we can pair a luxurious faux leopard scarf with a jewel toned velvet skinny jean. My friends, the possibilities are endless. Be bold because fashion is not for the faint at heart. Remember, there are no mistakes when it comes to your signature style, so play around with the fabulous, fashionista in the mirror. You never know, you might discover a whole new you.

Ciao for now,

From the friendly fashionista

  1. So true about mixing different fabrics and pieces – we can only do that during the winter. This is my favorite season for dressing. As I write, I am thinking about the outfit that I plan to put together for church tomorrow – yes, I will be mixing fabrics! Gotta love it. – Visiting from the Thursday Favorite Things hop.

    • That’s awesome Trinity! I’m going to be in a Black History month fashion show at my church this weekend and I’m totally planning on mixing and matching with the Kente dress I’ll be wearing.

  2. I love fisherman’s sweater ( although I prefer v neck) I absolutely love the one in the photo. thank you for adding your wonderful blog to the Thursday Favorite Things hop. xo

  3. Hi Epic Mom! I always like winter fashion, it’s the best!

  4. I’m from Florida, so I missed the two-week window of opportunity to wear this stuff in December… but FABULOUS list. I’m loving the cozy snowflake leggings and beige sweater. Stopping by from the Thursday Favorite Things hop! Oh, and Happy Valentine’s Day!
