If you live in Toronto, the closing of the Canadian National Exhibition each year signifies the final chapter of summer. You can sense it’s our last hurrah because people flock through its arches in droves, board its many rides, eat its deep fried mars bars, visit its many vendors and kick up their heels at its concerts. Thanks CNE for 134 years of history and fun.
Au revoir to the dog days of summer!
I’m not sure I’d be able to do those rides. I’m sure it’s fun for the kids though.
I used to love all those crazy rides but motherhood has definitely softened me (lol).
Great carnival photos. I love the swing shot.
Thanks SMT! π
I’d never heard of the Ex until this past week when someone mentioned it on Twitter. Looks like a great place!
It’s loads of fun Mimi! π
fun fun!!
It totally is Annmarie! π
At first, when clicking through to here, I was thinking, is this going to be a photo of the ‘ex’, but I was happy to see that it wasn’t so!!! lolol
Great pics, and I love the ‘vintage’ look of them as well…
I love looking through for old photos like these… And, yes sad that they are sold at auctiones and the like, but I like to grab them as well, and hang them in my house as my house is an old one so it fits in well…
Mines up as well at AussiePomm – Car Rally!!!
Have a great WW!!
Lol Bernard! The Ex is our Canadian nickname for the CNE. No exes photos were used for the publication of this post. π
I love a good funfair
Me too Steve!
I grew up going to the Ex. I miss the big time concerts they used to have but it still looks like a lot of fun.
So did I, that’s why I wanted to share the fun of it with my kiddies! π
