Spring 2012 Interior Decor Trends

With the warm weather just around the corner, many of us are in the mood to do some spring cleaning and jazz up our homes for warmer weather. Here are some interior decor trends that are hot for your home for spring 2012.

Colour Power

Lemon yellow, turquoise blue, and poppy red will be showing up in home decor for spring 2012. If you are not ready to invest in an expensive bright piece like a mixer, then incorporate this trend by getting some utensils or a trashcan in an unexpected pattern and sun-kissed pops of colour:

Natural wood

Light, birch woods and natural shapes are making a strong comeback. For affordable pieces, Ikea is always a great bet, just look for solid materials with simple forms.

Wallflower

Funky wallpaper will continue to gain momentum.  If you’re not ready for that kind of commitment, then wall decals are your best bet. They are a great way to add fun, whimsy or a bit of edge to any room.

Upcycle

Collectables, pieces you’ve picked up while travelling, antiques and vintage furniture are hot this upcoming season. People are now pulling vintage, retro and antique pieces into their spaces in the form of old furniture, old business signs, antique rugs etc. It adds an interesting contrast to your modern and contemporary pieces.
