Holiday Reveal Party

I had a fantastic time last night with my girlfriends! They popped over to my place and we opened, smelled and experienced the new Holiday Arbonne Collection. We LOVE it!!! It smells so yummy and the packaging is absolutely beautiful. We also had a makeup demo by my fabulous friend Sandy who’s been a professional makeup artist for over 10 years. My sweet friend Cate was our magnificent model last night. She opted for a look with a smoky eye and to achieve that look flawlessly, Sandy used the Midnight Muse Holiday Set. We learned so much, laughed a lot and people were able to get their holiday shopping done early and in a fun relaxing atmosphere. Everyone will also have a chance to give back to a great cause since 15% of all purchases from my store in October and November will go to help support the local food bank.

Speak life!

We have the power to speak life or death over our selves, our dreams, our family and friends etc. I’m choosing to see the good in everyone around me; I’m choosing to speak life over my life and the lives of my loved ones. This is an ancient bit of wisdom from Proverbs 18:21. Hope it inspires you to find lots of opportunities to speak life over someone or something today.

Daal crockpot recipe

I love making soups and stews for the fall and winter and I have the best friends ever who always share recipes, ingredients etc. Well, recently, I wanted to make Daal/Dal/Dhal (Indian spiced lentil soup) for our family Thanksgiving dinner but needed to modify it because of time constraints. Well my amazing network of mommy friends weighed in with suggestions and spices etc. and I was able to make an amazing Daal recipe that my family thoroughly enjoyed and I’m sure yours will too.

General Ingredients:
1 cup dried yellow split peas
5 cups of water
1 tsp tumeric
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp garlic flakes
1 chicken or vegetable bouillon cube

Optional depending on time. Ingredients for Tadka.
1 tbs oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds

Place all of the general ingredients in a crockpot.
Allow it to cook for at least 3 hours on high.
Heat a pan with oil.
Fry cumin and mustard seeds lightly.
Ladle a cup of daal broth into the pan.
Pour it all into the crockpot.
Add salt if you need to.
Let it cook for 1/2 hour more.

You are a masterpiece

So often we worry about what everyone else is doing, we take other peoples advice to heart; we are influenced by external forces. Yet, what if we quieted ourselves enough to listen to what our gut is telling us? What if we listened to, and acted on our own advice. What if in doing so, we were able to trust ourselves more and more, and eventually  see ourselves as the masterpieces of humanity that we truly are?  What if we owned that light that only we can shine? What if we grew into who we were meant to be and brought that unique gift that only we can bring to this world? What if, by shining our light brightly, we were able to transform this world, just a little, to become a better place? What if?
